Reflecting on need for collective learning in governance

It’s hard to believe, but already 3 months have passed since the TALEARN annual workshop in Jakarta.  Yet the key questions, challenges, and ideas that were raised by participants in that meeting still reverberate in my mind, and shape my thinking.  Many of those issues are reflected in my recent Think Piece on Thinking and Working Politically.

In order to keep the flame of the TALEARN meeting burning, I recently had the opportunity to reflect on some of the key themes and questions raised in the workshop for the Developmental Leadership Programme (DLP).  You can find my brief thoughts on collective learning about impact in the transparency and accountability field here.

The DLP is leading the way on research around many of the issues raised by TALEARN members, particularly around working politically.  The Director of DLP, Heather Marquette recently reflected on the obstacles and opportunities to helping donor staff learn and use the ‘language’ of thinking and working politically.
